Dear Ship Suppliers, Industry Partners, Associates and Friends,


We have seen throughout the world that the ship supply industry is essential for developing any destination into a true maritime hub. The services offered by our members are a major component of the port’s value addition.

As one of the oldest maritime sector associations in Sri Lanka, SLSSA is ready to play a driving role in the growth of Sri Lanka as a hub destination capable of serving high quality vessel requirements and competing actively with regional Ports.

As the SLSSA, our primary aim is to support the efforts of our members towards this goal the fullest possible extent by continuous engagement initiatives, creating forums and channels to discuss concerns/identify solutions with the various stakeholders and regulatory authorities.

As the long-term national association partner of the International Shipsuppliers and Services Association (ISSA), the SLSSA is also actively working with ISSA to develop the international presence and network of all our members and position the Sri Lankan Ship Supply Industry in the global maritime sphere.

We invite all our valued members to reach out to our secretariat if you require support, information , guidance or to address any potential concerns concerning the ship supply industry.

I would also like to take this opportunity to invite international and local industry stakeholders who wish to propose or participate in any industry initiatives or events to connect with us.

History of
Sri Lanka Ship Suppliers Association (SLSSA)

The Sri Lanka Ship Supplier Association has been charting its course for the past five decades since its inception in 1974. Our journey began with a shared vision of advancing the economic interests of our members and the maritime industry as a whole. Leveraging the power of Information Technology, our commitment to progress remains steadfast. Through our website, we are dedicated to keeping our valued members updated on the latest developments and insights within the shipping industry. As we embark on the next 50 years, our deep aim remains rooted in the betterment of the maritime community, forging a future built on excellence and sustainability. The SLSSA was established in 1974 for the benefit of ship chandlers in Sri Lanka with the aim of facilitating an exchange of ideas, information, and business strategies increasing the efficiency of the trade, to represent the members of the SLSSA before government authorities including Sri Lanka Custom, Sri Lanka Ports Authority, and other state institutions, as well as the Ceylon Association of Shipping Agents.
